Producers

We choose all our suppliers with great care and only after much research.  Rowley Leigh often visits the farm in person to get the complete picture of provenance.  We have some long-standing relationships, but we also continue to source the very best seasonal ingredients for our kitchen.  It is a never ending, but highly enjoyable quest.  Here are just a few of our favourites with comments from Rowley.

Huntsham Farm

S. J. Frederick & Sons

The Frederick family has been farming since the early 1800’s, and has been at Temple Farm in Essex since 1937.  Label Anglais chicken was introduced in the 1990’s and is acclaimed by many as the finest chicken produced in the UK.
As Albert Roux once observed, “an ‘appy chicken will taste good and an un’appy one won’t”, and these chickens taste very good indeed.

 

Rushtons

Rowley says - "I've been buying my olives and all sorts of bits and pieces from the Fresh Olive Company for many years. They are the best in the business and good fun to deal with into the bargain..."
 



HG Walter

HG WalterHG Walter offers a variety of slow growing traditional free-range and organic chickens to suit everyone’s taste. It is great to have a butcher who cares as much as I do about high quality meat. Adam and the team are a dream to work with.
